Two is better than one

What's better than one day at the county 4-H Fair? Well, two of course! That's how we spent our week, visiting our county's fair with friends, which has become an annual tradition!
Our first day to the fair we brought Asia with us. It was her first time at the fair!
Spending $0.50 on a cup of hay cubes to feed the animals, and in this case, a pony and a donkey
Khloe LOOOVED all the animals. She walked around squealing with pure joy and excitement with each new animal she saw. She especially loved the birds...
Oh, and the llama too. Here she actually tried to crawl in the pen. If we had let her she would've crawled in each and every one of the pens. She almost lost several of her fingers at different times to a not-so-friendly turkey and a goose.
 Hello Mr. Llama
 Kayla
 Khloe
Asia
This year Kayla finally stood taller than the 42" green "tall enough to ride this ride" line so we got to ride all the fast spin-y rides! And we spent 50 tickets doing so! And by "we", I really do mean "we". Aaron rode the first one with the girls and then swore off fast spinning rides for the next century and gladly handed me that baton, which I gladly took. I love these rides! So, for the next hour the girls and I rode the rides, the girls screamed, while Aaron and Khloe gladly watched from the sidelines. Everyone was happy!
Day Two: We went back with Addison and Lowell!

This also meant day two of blue raspberry slushies.
The corn is such a hit! (We've should've pushed to stay here longer, and not move on at all. Why didn't we? At least this was free.)
Our trip the day before Kayla begged and begged to go on the ferris wheel. It is the one ride that I will not go on. Put me on something that spins you dizzy, turns you upside down, but do not put me on that high slow wheel of torture. Aaron, also not a big fan. So we kept dismissing her requests and distracting her with other rides. Well... day two at the fair and I felt I couldn't deny her request again. Luckily, Lowell was the brave soul who volunteered to take the girls!
Everyone looks happy to finally be on the ferris wheel! (Well everyone except maybe Lowell!)
Despite being tall enough to ride the "big rides" they were still drawn to some of their old favorites. These rides seemed less exciting this year, although we grew to love them over the last two years.
 Wwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! More fast rides!
The second thing Kayla kept asking to do our first night at the fair was the bungy cord/trampoline jump. This totally surprised us! But, like she pointed out, "its just like gymnastics". Again, we kept dismissing it because it was just one more thing that required yet more money and we thought we could distract her with other fun rides. Well, that tactic might work for one night, but certainly not two nights. So, Addison and Kayla - they were so brave and I can't believe they went through with it - did the jump! They were really high! It was pretty cool, and I was impressed.
I think we are all Fair'd out! We certainly got our fill!

Weekend festivities

Friday night was a great night for a Tiger's Game! It was warm, sunny, and the Tiger's beat the White Sox, and now they're that much closer to being back in first place! Kayla did awesome and hung in there until the end for the fireworks show. It was one of the most awesome firework shows we have ever seen! Comerica Park does a great job of making the Tiger's games a family-friendly atmosphere.
Family date night for the five and older crowd.
My two cute Tiger's fans
Kayla couldn't wait for Molly's 6th birthday party. She said at least four times before the start of the Sunday noon pool party, "I can't believe today is really her party!" I realized something about being at a party with a dozen 5 and 6 year old girls - it's fun!!! The girls were all so very cute playing in the pool for hours. I soaked up how much this is such a sweet and innocent time watching them play so well together in the pool - (while she still wants me to be with her at her friend's birthday party)!!
Singing happy birthday
Cheers!

A great ending to a great weekend - family time!

Growing up

How she can still fit herself into this box is beyond me! Apparently she's still small enough, a.k.a. flexible enough, to mold her body into this tight space. Apparently kids never grow out of their fascination and love of boxes, no matter their size or age.
This girl, that still loves to play in small boxes, is the the same girl that still asks to sleep on my tummy when I put her to bed. Just as she has not tired of boxes, she has also not tired of cuddling on top of me to sleep. Ahhhh, these moments are precious.
 Dress up!
Khloe played dress up too, because she wants to be 4 years old so badly, or else she already thinks she is four. She will never get left out - she makes sure of it!
There's nothing more precious than a peaceful, sleeping baby! Sweet dreams baby girl!

Hi mom!

Guess what?! When you are away, it's so fun to play in the dirt! And I eat it too!
Daddy is watching me, but I'm too fast for him because he just had knee surgery and can't get around very well. I know I'm not supposed to be in the dirt, but it's just too fun!

A most interesting mess

Lovely. Khloe discovered the paper shredder, which at the time of her discovery, was full. Once I had discovered that she had made this discovery, it was no longer full. On the positive side, this kept her entertained and happy for a very long time!
