On Monday, Kayla had her "pretend" birthday at school. {Kids with summer birthdays can pick any day during the school year to bring in treats to celebrate their birthday.} For her treats (cupcakes not allowed) I told Kayla she could pick out anything she wanted in the cookie/treat aisle at the grocery store. She picked the chocolate frosting-and-sprinkle-covered oreo cookies. She asked "Is there enough in there for all my children? I want to call all the kids in my class my children."
We released our butterflies! It was exciting! (Kayla loved it, Khloe hated it). The moment was immediately followed by an "Awwwww. I miss the butterflies so much". Khloe screamed and cried when a butterfly landed on her shirt. She wanted everything to do with the butterflies when they were IN their cage, but was not a fan of them OUT of their cage.
Getting ready to release the butterflies
Look! There they go! (I love that Khloe is right there completely into it too)
Bye-bye butterflies!
We went to Fort Gratiot beach on the most beautiful day of the year (so far) with our pizza picnic lunch.
Kayla had gymnastics class and earned three stickers! She got a high five from her teacher for her "awesome cartwheel" - as Kayla described it. Only three more stickers - and one more class - to go before she graduates from Level 1!! We have been practicing cartwheels together outside in the grass every night.
Little Ryan Murphy hosted us at his house for a dinner play date on his beach.
This is the best we could do to get two 12 month old's to "sit still and look here".
Khloe rode the merry-go-round for the first time on her very own horse. She was paralyzed with fear. After she got done screeching at the horse for the first few times around, she finally relaxed, grabbed on and [slightly] enjoyed the rest of the ride. As soon as it stopped, she immediately wanted back in my arms. For the girl that loves to be thrown/tossed/bounced/wrestled with, her apprehension surprised me. After we got off, Kayla continued to ride several more times!Whew. There you go, that was our week! Come home soon so we can show you all the Sporties for Shorties training we've been doing and riding a bike without training wheels we've been practicing!
We're ready to be a family of four again.
Love,
Your Girls

I pretty much cried through the whole post. I love my girls.
