It's true.
(Not only take the time to look at this cute little face, but also notice those cute chubby little feet and toes!)
Silly girl!
I might as well provide a little 13-month old update for you Khloe! I'm pretty sure I was still telling people you were 12 months old before I realized, oh, a week had gone by and you were finally 13 months old. Once I realized my mistake, I still went ahead and told people you were 12 months old anyways.
At 13 months, :
- You can say mama, dada, nana (banana), nye-nye (night-night), and cracka (cracker). We SWEAR you've also said thank you, yucky, tikky, and kayla. You can sign all done, no, and more. We're working on eat and please.
- Your ticklish spot USED to be your inner thighs, but that has been replaced with kissing your armpits! And holding your feet down and tickling them gets you laughing pretty hard too.

- You eat pretty well, and just about anything we put in front of you. You could eat an entire pint of blueberries and blackberries at each meal if we let you. You usually want to eat whatever is on our plates and in our glasses to drink, and get mad if we don't let you. If you don't like something on your tray you throw it to the ground. As soon as you've proudly thrown it to the ground you shake your head 'no' while smiling.
- It's impossible to keep a bib on you for more than 60 seconds.
- You still like to screech very high-pitched, loud sounds. Sometimes the screeching is out of pure joy and happiness. Sometimes you're screeching just to keep up with the volume of noise coming from Kayla and her friends. Sometimes the screeching means you are upset and mad!
- You will ONLY wear soft soled shoes on your feet. No hard shoes. No sandals. If we attempt any of these shoes you fall to the ground in a heap, cry and refuse to move. It's quite a sad show, so we don't attempt it. And if there's Velcro on the shoe, they don't have a chance of staying on.
- You have mastered the temper tantrum: eye-squint, scrunched-up face, fake cry. Thankfully it only lasts for a split second and then you move on. If it wasn't the cutest thing we've ever witnessed we might try and stop it, but we don't.
- You are a hugger. Family, friends, waitresses, strangers, babies; it doesn't matter.
- Your favorite game is to be chased around the living room/kitchen/den circle. We stomp loudly saying "I'm gonna get-cha!" and then grab you and throw you in the air while you laugh. You immediately want down so you can do it again. You have a hard time running, laughing, and looking back over your shoulder all at the same time so you usually crash every few steps, but get right back up and go! This game goes on for many laps.
- You have a VERY strong grip! Sometimes we can't even pry something from your fingers! I'm sure you've had practice holding onto things to keep them from your sister!
- You love to bounce and roll around on beds and couches.
- You love to dance in circles to music, and be twirled around with.
- You like it when Kayla plays rough with you. Usually I am seconds away from scolding Kayla for being too rough with you but just as the words are almost out of my mouth you start cracking up, and so Kayla's game of pulling your arm/bending your legs up to your head/pushing you back continues, and I just shrug my shoulders and smile.
- You are easy to put to bed. You take a 4oz bottle, we rock you for 2 minutes then you reach for your crib and your red bear and you put yourself to sleep. You still sleep with a pacifier (or 4) at night.
- You love to play with mommy and daddy's iPhones, anything your sister is holding, and you love to play on the stairs. You are quite quick at getting up and down them!
- You LOVE LOVE LOVE to be outside, and take the opportunity to escape out the sliding screen door at any chance you get.
- You have managed to learn how to crawl halfway UP our playset slide, and climbed to the first rung on the ladder. This continues to give me a heart attack.
- Your favorite part of the day is when "Dada!" comes home; you call his name, run to him smiling and give him lots of hugs while patting his back.
- You never stop moving!
- You are independent and determined!
