The weekend had finally arrived. Not only did we get the boat out for the first time in 11 months and go for a boat ride, but it was Khloe's first boat ride too! Even Kayla couldn't believe that she was THREE years old since the last time she had been on the boat. Yes, it has been a looooooooooooong time for all of us, and we were all overdue for our time to touch, see, smell and feel our boat. Even cleaning it was a joy for us (and that's
NEVER the case) and Kayla spent a good 3-4 hours inside the boat in the driveway cleaning with a bucket, sponge, hose and soap.

What a beautiful weekend for our maiden voyage! On Saturday it was in the 80's and on Sunday, in the 90's. The lake was the place to be. We wanted to make sure that Khloe was going to be okay with the big, bulky life vest infants are required to wear so we put it on her in the house on Friday night and she didn't pay a bit of attention to it; we knew that was a good sign. Her reaction to being on the boat? She acted like this was her 8th season boating and that it was no big deal. Nothing phased her, not the bumps, not the wind, not the water, not the life vest. You would've thought she'd been boating for years. It reminded us of back in the day when we used to have the nickname "No Opinion Pook" - or NOP
(pronounced NOPE) - for Kayla. Khloe is no different. In fact, Khloe preferred to be front and center in the middle of the boat as we headed into the wind. The stronger the wind, the more she laughed.
We wondered, would Khloe fall asleep on the boat as Kayla had as an infant? Yes!
She got a good nap in!
Khloe in her bed/fort, asleep. (See her little foot sticking out?!)
One girl asleep in the front, one girl asleep in the back. Wow, mom and dad got to relax!
This surprised us - Kayla still napping on the boat, by her own choosing! Apparently four years have not made a difference!
Hey, happy napping kids make for happy boating!
Just look at that happy face!
