Happy Easter!

 From these angelic bunny beauties!
We are so grateful to get such beautiful fun clothes to borrow from Cassidy, and this red crushed velor long red coat is no exception. Khloe wore it all winter to church and I think Easter was going to be her last time to wear it so we had to take a picture of her in it! It's such a gorgeous coat!
Relaxing after Easter baskets, church and a wonderful brunch with Grandparents prepared by Daddy.
And more fun Easter costume accessories for piano lesson :)

Double the egg hunt fun

Our Easter Saturday began early along the Blue Water River Walk helping out Friends of the St. Clair River with their egg hunt and shoreline clean-up event. I packed up Addison and Kayla early and we headed off downtown to hide 475 eggs along the boardwalk filled with nature-themed surprises. Their reward (aka bribery) was a doughnut and hot chocolate. It was kind of warm and sunny but we were still bundled up because it was early, but it was a beautiful morning outside!
At the start of the event, Aaron and Khloe joined us, Friends volunteers, and about 50 other volunteers, to find eggs and clean up trash along the River Walk. It was a great day and fun event!
That egg hunt led right into the  neighborhood egg hunt at the Heptings with all of our close neighbor friends and families! It's always a fun afternoon that last well into the afternoon with drinks on their sunny deck. There were lots of boys and other little kids there too, but they don't willingly participate in photos.
This bottom photo was to include Khloe, who refused to get off the swing!

Little gymanst

This little girl is quite the athlete! She's strong, confident and constantly in motion with boundless energy! All these work well together to make her a talented, athletic gymnast!
Graduating from level one, and on to level two!
Glad you got to see her graduate, Kristi!

Woodland adventure

I love that my 3 year old loves the outdoors. She wants to be outside and play outside all. the. time. No matter the weather, she's game for doing anything outside. A typical conversation in our house goes something like this:

Me: Who wants to go outside!??!
Khloe: Hand in the air, jumping up and down, MEEEEEE!
Kayla: NO!

But because I usually want to be outside too, along with Khloe, we all go outside. Sometimes its too cold for me to be outside, but Khloe is immune to frigid temperatures, so she plays outside by herself either riding her bike in the driveway or swinging on the playset.

This day Khloe said, "Mom, I want to go on a Mommy-Daughter adventure in the woods with you. I want to hear birds I've never heard before." She didn't have to ask me twice! We soaked up the nice warm sun and searched for treasures in the woods. We even came across deer poop. Khloe said, "I've never seen deer poop before!"

I love that this little girl is always up for an outdoor adventure!

Art virtuoso

Another Friday night, another painting class at Studio 1219. Once again, I signed Kayla up for the "adult only" Lushes and Brushes class because we loved the instructor and the experience so much the first time. I enjoyed white wine, Kayla enjoyed pop. Jenny was glad to see us again! She's truly impressed with Kayla's painting ability, as are we!
I can count on one hand the number of times that Kayla asked for some help from me. No sooner did she hand me the brush and I started painting then she would say "I can do it!" and she'd steal the brush back. Fine with me! After that happened a few times I refused to help her and told her it was her painting and would reflect her work. She didn't want me touching her painting AT ALL!
Students could pick which ever color tulips they wanted; Kayla choose pink and yellow.
Another fabulous painting hanging in our foyer!
She's doing so well and having so much fun, it's inspiring me to want to paint too!

Piano Patty's Day

How my mom comes up with these holiday costume accessories, I do not know. But she did say that she LOVES teaching piano when it falls on a holiday! An excuse to dress up, be crazy and have fun! I have to say it sure does make for entertaining and interesting piano lessons. Which I guess is better than the opposite -- crying because of a teacher and a lesson. (I recall those days for myself!) I'm glad Kayla has her Grandma to teach her piano!
This is a good picture to see all those missing teeth! Four of them!
