Last weekend we visited Chilly Fest downtown Port Huron. Chilly Fest has been around for quite a few years and has evolved over time to include different anchor events like snowmobile races, bed races, ice carving competitions, etc. We went years ago to the snowmobile races when Kayla was younger, but that was awhile ago and haven't been back since. Usually because it's too... chilly. This year was no different. It was very CHILLY!!! But the lineup of activities was too enticing, Kayla got a "pick up your free prize" flier at school, our friends were racing in the bed races, there was free hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting, horse and carriage rides, carnival games, a circus, warm beer tent with bands, the list goes on and on. Oh, and our friend Scott was running a competition for his new computer business. He sponsored an ice sculpture (a computer, naturally) and asked people to take photos in front of his ice sculpture and post it to his FB page. The photo that made him laugh the hardest would win a brand new mini iPad! Whoa, that's quite a prize! And worth a shot at it! We told Kayla that if she could come up with a funny idea with a picture in front of it, and if she won 1st place, we would let her win the mini iPad. After hanging out at Chilly Fest for several hours and on our way out, here's the idea Kayla came up with:

Haha! Pretty good, eh?! We were laughing pretty good, and what's more, it was pretty cold out and she hung in there (pun not intended) for the photo opp. But, here's how I submitted the photo on Scott's FB page for the photo contest:
"Upside down or right side up? Let QCS straighten you out!"
Drumroll please?! And Kayla won....
(Our other submission)
2nd place!!
Good news is, she made him laugh! Bad news, just not quite hard enough. Good news is, we still won a prize! (a 32GB flash drive) Bad new is, it's just not a mini iPad, and Kayla doesn't care about a flash drive. We're proud of her effort though; there were lots of photos submitted for the contest! If you see Kayla, tell her you loved her idea, but don't be discouraged for her; she's not discouraged. She's already planning her move for next year.
So by Kayla getting second place prize, it's kind of like you guys got first prize
